Yifan Sun earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, under the supervision of Dr. Tommaso Melodia. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electronic Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He was a graduate student in the Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems Laboratory, where his research focused on underwater acoustic sensor networks and optimization of wireless networks. His work on an IP-compatible protocol stack for commercial undersea modems received the Best Student Paper Award at ACM WUWNet 2013.
