Research Interests
Raoul Raftopoulos was born in Catania, Italy, in 1996. He received his Master’s degree (cum laude) in Computer Engineering at the University of Catania , Italy, in 2020, where he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Systems, Energy, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering. He is currently a Ph.D. visiting student at the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things at Northeastern University, under Prof. Tommaso Melodia . His research focuses on applying machine learning techniques to the Management and Orchestration of 5G Networks, Microservices, Software Defined Networking, Network Function Virtualization and Network Slicing. In 2022 he was awarded the Francesco Carassa Award for best presentation and publication. He has been involved in the H2020 European Projects Triangle, 5GINFIRE, and Flame as a Research Consultant and Software Developer.
