Research Interests
Lei Ding received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (SUNY) on May 18, 2012, successfully defending her thesis titled “Cross-layer Routing and Resource Allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks”. She worked in the Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Tommaso Melodia. Prior to her doctoral studies, Lei received her M.S. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China in 2006. From 2006 to 2007, she was an electrical engineer at Motorola China R&D Networks Lab in Beijing, China. Her research focused on cross-layer optimization for cognitive radio networks and cooperative communication networks, design and experimentation of PHY, MAC, routing, and transport protocols for wireless distributed networks, and testbed evaluation of ad hoc wireless networks. After completing her Ph.D., she became a Research Scientist at Intelligent Automation Inc., working on networking and security areas.
