Research Interests
Arvind Prasanna earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Bangalore, India in 2008, where he was the recipient of the “Best Project” award from the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering for his undergraduate project on lossless compression and decompression. He was a Research Assistant at the Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems Laboratory (WINES), conducting research on rate control of compressed sensed videos under the supervision of Prof. Tommaso Melodia. His research focused on the design of multimedia communication systems, rate control of compressed sensed videos in wireless multimedia sensor networks, and implementation of distortion minimizing rate control on USRP2 software defined radios.
